Wolfson/Theatres Trust Urgent Repairs Scheme

Wolfson/Theatres Trust Urgent Repairs Scheme

The Wolfson Foundation, in partnership with Theatres Trust, has launched an Urgent Repairs Scheme through which theatres in need of immediate repair, and that could otherwise face closure, can apply for grants of up to £15,000. The scheme is open to all theatres operating a year-round programme of live performance. Theatres that are not statutory listed will need to demonstrate the architectural significance of their building.

The scheme is intended to focus on smaller, regional theatres, complementing the Foundation’s existing funding programme to the performing arts and building on the knowledge and expertise of Theatres Trust. 2017 will be a pilot year for the scheme, with the Wolfson Foundation providing £100,000 of funding and Theatres Trust managing the application and evaluation process.

Two funding rounds will take place in 2017 with Round One closing on 15 March 2017 and awards being announced in July 2017. Round Two will close on 16 September 2017, with awards being announced in January 2018.
