British Academy/Wolfson Professor wins second foreign book prize

January 2018

We were delighted to hear that Professor Robert Frost FBA, Burnett Fletcher Chair in History at the University of Aberdeen, was awarded first prize in the Polish Foreign Ministry’s (inaugural) competition for the best book promoting knowledge of Polish History published in a foreign language.

The Prize was presented in Warsaw and led to a live TV appearance and radio and press interviews. Professor Frost was awarded the prestigious Pro Historia Polonorum prize for his Oxford History of Poland-Lithuania, Vol. 1: The Making of the Polish-Lithuanian Union, 1385–1569 (Oxford University Press, Oxford, 2015) in October 2017.

The books were the result of a British Academy/Wolfson Foundation Professorship in 2009.
