DCMS Wolfson Museums and Galleries Improvement Fund: new funding round opens

April 2013

A new funding round to support the refurbishment of museums and galleries has been announced today. The programme is run jointly with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. The amount available for this round of funding is some £4 million.

Guidelines and application forms for the second round of the DCMS Wolfson Museums and Galleries Improvement Fund (2011-15) have been released and may be found on the DCMS website. Invitations to apply have been issued to eligible museums and galleries to submit bids by 5 July, with announcement of the awards to follow in early 2014.

The Museums and Galleries Improvement Fund, which was established in 2000, aims to improve the quality of displays, exhibition spaces, collection interpretation and disabled access in museums and galleries. To date, some £36 million has been allocated for the refurbishment of museum and gallery spaces through the partnership.
